Scandinavian Comfort

Updated: Oct 9, 2018

Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle decided to update their 1930's traditional home after getting the exciting news that they are expecting their first child in the fall! With the new bundle of joy on the way they figured it was the perfect time to make all of the changes they have been dreaming about come true.

The Carlyle's love their Greensboro home and plan on aging in place, therefor, all of our renovations will accommodate accessibility for future use. We will start by adding a turning adding square footage by expanding the kitchen, dining room, and master bedroom. The Carlyle's love open concept design so we will also be opening the kitchen up into the dining room. The small guest bedroom will be transformed into a walk-in closet for the master bedroom, and the current master closet space will be used to expand the master bath into a suite. A nursery will be added across from the master so Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle will never be far from their little one. Mr. Carlyle's dream of a garage will also be coming true as we plan on adding a two car garage.

The Carlyle's love the comfort and simplicity of Scandinavian style homes. Throughout the home we will use use a soft, warm, neutral palette, with pops of deep yellows and calming blue-greens. Varying textures of wool, sheepskin and linen will contrast with the industrial touches of raw wood, metal, and geometric shapes. Overall, the interior will create an crisp, clean, and comforting oasis, perfect for a small family to enjoy for years to come.
